sampson_boxingWorld Boxing Association Bantamweight “Super Champion” Anselmo ‘Chemito’ Moreno (34-2-1, 12 KOs) of Panama and his long-time adviser, Sampson Lewkowicz, say they have no objections to WBA Regular Bantamweight Champion Koki Kameda’s request for an interim fight, provided he and Moreno have their mandatory fight later this year or early in 2014.

“The WBA gave us 30 days to negotiate with Kameda Promotions to arrange the mandatory fight between Moreno and Kameda, but Kameda has requested an interim fight before he faces Moreno,” explained Lewkowicz, “we will agree to not interfere with that request, provided the fight is arranged in good faith for December or January.

Lewkowicz says the future Hall-of-Famer Moreno will most likely face Kameda (the 12th defense of Moreno’s title) at Lewkowicz’s “Vegas in Panama III” event at the Megapolis at the Hard Rock Hotel in Panama City.

“Next up for Moreno is the Kameda fight. That is our direction we have decided,” continued Lewkowicz. “We appreciate the kind offer to fight Leo Santa Cruz, made by Roberto Diaz on behalf of Richard Schaeffer and Golden Boy Promotions to the management of Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno, however, Golden Boy needs to understand that this offer is not acceptable because we need to honor the mandate of the WBA and face Koki Kameda.”
