Video: Mikey Garcia: “Maidana’s game plan, didn’t allow Floyd to move as much as he normally does”

“Floyd can definitely box and use his legs more, but I think that Maidana did not allow him because he kept that relentless pressure all night and maybe Floyd might have wanted to stand his ground and show the fans that he is a fighter and not just a guy that runs around. I think it could have been a combination of both things, but I think Chino had a really good game plan and that’s why Mayweather wasn’t able to move as well as he normally does.”

Super Featherweight champion Mikey Garcia was at the MGM Casino in Las Vegas this past Saturday, May 3rd 2014, to witness Marcos Maidana and Floyd Mayweather battle it out for 12 rounds. Mayweather, who is now the WBC and WBA Welterweight World Champion, prevailed with a hard-fought majority decision victory over Maidana in the main event of The Moment, SHOWTIME PPV.
