Video: Lara talks about his trip from Cuba to the US and his nickname, “The American Dream”

This afternoon Mexican superstar and former WBC and WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Saul Canelo Alvarez and Cuban sensation and WBA Junior Middleweight World Champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara made their grand arrivals for their July 12 mega-bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas live on SHOWTIME PPV.

After the event both fighters took some time to talk to the press about their upcoming bout. During his interview, Lara would describe his experience of leaving Cuba and arriving to the US, he would also discuss why he choose the nickname, “The American Dream”.

“Honor & Glory: Canelo vs. Lara,” a 12-round junior middleweight fight taking place Saturday, July 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Canelo Promotions, sponsored by Corona and AT&T and produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV®. In the co-main event, Abner Mares returns to face Puerto Rico’s Jonathan Oquendo in a 10-round featherweight bout. In the opening bout of the pay-per-view event, Johan Perez defends his interim WBA Junior Welterweight World Title against Mauricio Herrera in a 12-round matchup. Also featured, Juan Manuel Lopez and Francisco Vargas of Mexico in a 10-round bout for the WBO International Super Featherweight Title.
