Bethlehem, PA: Philadelphia native Karl “Dynamite” Dargan (14-0-0, 7 KOs) is scheduled to face Chazz McDowell (6-4-1, 1 KO) of Hartford, CT on the March 15th undercard of the NBCSN Fight Night bout between Tomasz “Goral” Adamek and Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov in an eight round lightweight match-up.
The 28 year old Dargan is coming off an impressive win on November 16, 2013 against Michael “Lefty” Brooks in the co-feature of the special afternoon edition of Fight Night on NBC when he defeated Brooks via unanimous decision in ten rounds.  Brooks was also undefeated heading into the fight at Turning Stone but the better the opponent, the better Dargan performs.  He said, “My last fight against Brooks wasn’t my toughest win. It was actually one of my easiest wins. The better caliber fighter, the better my performance.”

In Dargan’s undefeated professional career all but one of his wins came by unanimous decision or knockout.  He has had only one judge go against him – in a split decision on February 23, 2013 against Ramesis Gil in Huntington, NY.  Dynamite is also no stranger to the big fights.  In his impressive amateur career he won the 2004 and 2005 United States Amateur Light welterweight titles.  According to Dynamite “The tournament that I was most proud of winning in the amateurs was winning the Pan Am Games Gold Medal in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in 2007.”
On March 15th Dargan will take on a very tough Chazz McDowell.  McDowell, 24, has never been knocked out in his short career.  According to Main Events’ matchmaker and VP of Operations Jolene Mizzone, “Chazz McDowell is a guy who has never been stopped before. Usually, when I am trying to secure someone to fight Dargan, I go through about ten guys who accept then back out after they look into Dargan. This time Chad was the second guy I went to and he accepted right away. He is a rugged guy who is not going to quit. He is going to get in there and test Dynamite.”  McDowell had this to say about Dargan, “Karl Dargan is nice at what he does but I am coming to do my thang!”
When asked about McDowell, Dargan said, “I never heard of Chazz McDowell. I never saw him fight and I never looked at any film on him. My trainer Brother Naazim does that and he comes up with a strategy and my job is to execute the strategy. I know he is not at my level but I don’t underestimate any of my opponents. I respect them all to a certain level.”
