Mchunu, 26, the southpaw from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa is making his third appearance on Fight Night. In his last appearance he defeated Olanrewaju “God’s Power” Durodola via unanimous decision in ten rounds at Resorts International Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ on January 24, 2014. Wilson, 32, is from the fighting city of Philadelphia, PA. He made his Fight Nightdebut on a special afternoon edition of NBC Fight Night on November 16, 2013 at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, NY against Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov. Wilson was a last minute replacement for Tomasz “Goral” Adamek who fell ill days before the fight. Wilson took the fight on less than 48 hours’ notice and agreed to fight at heavyweight despite being a cruiserweight. He ultimately lost to Glazkov via a ten-round unanimous decision but he gained the respect of the boxing community for stepping up at the last minute and taking such a big fight on national broadcast television.

“The Rock” and “The Ultimate Warrior” were scheduled to face each other in January of this year but Wilson pulled out due to an injured Achilles tendon.  Mchunu went on to defeat Durodola instead but fans are excited that the fight is finally scheduled to take place next month at Foxwoods. Kathy Duva, Main Events’ CEO said, “This is our first time back at Foxwoods in over a decade. I’m happy that we could bring them such an important show that will be seen by millions on national broadcast television and I look forward to working together again in the future.”
