Return of Twin Power – Carlos and Juan Velasquez set to fight this Saturday in Minnesota

MINNESOTA, March 21, 2014 – Puerto Rican twin brothers, Carlos and Juan Velasquez, are set to fight this Saturday at The Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota. Both fighters will campaign at super-featherweight in scheduled 6-round bouts.  Carlos Velasquez (15-1, 11 KOs) will face Willshaun Boxley (6-9-1, 4 KOs) while Juan Velasquez (11-1, 5 KOs) will square off against Philip Adyaka(4-4, 2 KO).

 

“I’m looking forward to a big 2014,” said Carlos Velasquez. “I’ve learned a lot since my last fight.  I’ve been working hard and I’m feeling incredible.  I have some new members of my team that have been pushing me to new limits.  I just want to stay busy this year and make an impact in the division.”

 

Juan Velasquez makes his return after a long layoff.  His last fight was in April of 2012 in which he won a 4-round unanimous decision.  Against Wisdom, he’ll be looking to shake off the rust and get back to fighting on a regular basis.

 

“I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on my career and I feel I’m ready to take it to the next level.” Juan Velasquez said. “My goal is to stay active and improve with every fight.  I’m in great shape and ready to put on a great show for the fans in Minnesota.”

 

The Velasquez twins are promoted by Warriors Boxing and G & A Promotions and managed byLuis Decubas Jr.  and Bob Santos. Both fighters also scheduled to fight May, 1, 2014 on ESPN “Friday Night Fights”.
