Quigg to defend WBA Super Bantamweight title on April 19th against Tshifhiwa Munyai

aweSAN DIEGO (APRIL 14, 2014)–This Saturday afternoon, Tshifiwa Munyai will step in for Nehomar Cermeno to challenge Scott Quigg for Quigg’s WBA Super Bantamweight title that will be broadcast live on AWE beginning at 3pm eastern / 12 noon pacific.
Boxing fans across the United States can enjoy this world championship bout live via the PlayStation®3 system via the Sony Entertainment Network Live Events Viewer.  The price is $9.95 for approximately three hours of world class boxing which includes the Quigg – Cermeno  main event.  PS3 viewers may subscribe early to the event.
The fight will originate from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Quigg of Bury, England is undefeated with a record of 27-0-2 with 20 knockouts and is a 7-year professional.
He won the WBA Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight title with a 3rd round stoppage over Santiago Allione.  He made 2 defenses of the title before capturing the British title with a 7th round stoppage over Jason Booth.  Quigg defended the British crown once and then took on Rendall Munroe for the WBA Interim Super Bantamweight title.
That bout ended in a technical draw after a cut to Munroe forced the bout to be halted in the 3rd round.  Quigg then scored a 6th round stoppage in the rematch.
In his first defense, Quigg was held to a draw with highly regarded Yoandris Salinas. In his last bout, Quigg dismantled Diego Silva (29-2) in two rounds on November 23, 2013.
Munyai of Makwarela, South Africa has a record of 24-2-1 with 12 knockouts and is ranked number-9 by the WBA.
Munyai went undefeated (16-0-1) in his 1st 17 bouts with some not only some great victories but success in the United Kingdom.
He has captured a plethora of titles such as
He won the British Commonwealth Bantamweight title with a 9th round stoppage over previously undefeated Martin Power (19-0).  He defended it by stopping another undefeated Brit in Les Haskins (15-0).  He stopped Power in 4 rounds in their rematch.
Munyai is 5-1 with 3 knockouts on British soil.  He has four in a row which includes wins Emanuel Quartey (14-1) to win the WBA Pan African Super Bantamweight title and in his last outing he scored an 8th round stoppage over Phumzile Matyhila on September 21, 2013 in Mdantsane, South Africa.
There will be an outstanding undercard that will be headlined by a can’t miss co-feature between lightweights John Murray and Anthony Crolla in a 12-round battle for the WBO Intercontinental Lightweight title.  Also in a 12 round bout will be undefeated featherweight Josh Warrington (16-0, 1 KO) taking on former world title challenger Rendall Munroe (28-4-1).  Plus other bouts.
