premier boxing champions banner-march 7-2015Jorge Lara (27-0-1) vs. Mario Macias (25-15)
Featherweight Bout – 6 Rounds
The second pair of featherweights on the card met in Lara and Macias. ‎Lara nor Macias was at all concerned with much of a feeling out process as the two warriors traded heavy leather at close quarters. The more powerful and crisp shots however were landed by Lara whose punches backed his man up along the ropes forcefully. A clean right hook stunned Macias who almost went down but was held up by the ropes, referee Tony Weeks ruled it a knock down which temporarily slowed the rowdy pace of the match. Once they restarted Guadalajara, Mexico’s Lara punched the gas by walking his man down rattling off some vicious right hooks that cracked the guard and face of Macias almost at will. Alertly, referee Weeks stepped in to prevent any more punishment to the lesser skilled combatant.
Result: Jorge Lara remains unbeaten defeating Mario Macias via TKO at (2:04) of the 1st Round.
Mario Barrios ‎(8-0) vs. Justin Lopez (5-3)
Featherweight Bout – 6 Rounds
This featherweight tilt featured heavy handed fighters in Barrios and Lopez. Barrios favored a significant height advantage which enabled him to stay away from any dangerous heat that Lopez threw when going up top. Just inside of the 10 second warning to indicate the end of the 2nd round, Barrios landed a short left hook unto the head of Lopez who was still in range even as he ducked, the shot landed clean sending him to a knee just before the round finished. Barrios smelled blood in the water backing his man up along the ropes with his jab, Lopez threw some heat back as he bobbed and ‎weaved as best as possible but the more skilled Barrios let off some vicious left and right hooks that crashed unto his opponent’s head or body without much resistance. Referee Chris Byrd had seen enough jumping in to stop the action.
Result: Mario Barrios remains undefeated stopping Justin Lopez via TKO at (1:53) of the 3rd Round.
Robert Easter (13-0) vs. Alejandro Rodriguez (22-16-1)
Lightweight Bout – 8 Rounds
The second fight of the night jumped down to the 135lbs weight class as Easter and Rodriguez locked horns. ‎Dawning the flashier trunks that shined with an all gold waist line Easter flashed his 1-2 on Rodriguez who seemed noticeably slower both in hand speed and foot speed. Easter’s right hands were on point be it looping hooks or straights which as the round progressed enabled the Ohio native to land some left hooks. Going into the 2nd round Easter stepped up the assault and sent his man to the canvas with a double left hand-straight right combination. Rodriguez got up only to be sent to the canvas again with a straight punch that put him to one knee. Again, the proud Monterrey, Mexico native rose to his feet but found himself in trouble still as that Easter 1-2 found its home once more  on the temple of Rodriguez dropping him to the canvas. Referee Jay Nady had seen enough calling a stop to the bout.
Result: Robert Easter remains undefeated stopping Alejandro Rodriguez via TKO at (1:15) of Round 2.
Ladarius MILLER (6-0) vs. Ryan PICOU (2-7)
Welterweight Bout – 4 Rounds
Kicking off the night from inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena were welterweights, Miller and Picou. ‎Miller put together a slick offense from the start by rolling with his man’s punches before unleashing some counter left hooks and crippling body shots. To his credit, Picou kept coming with constant pressure in the form of looping shots and overhand rights. ‎Picou got a little careless towards the second half of the fight, dropping his hands to his side or coming in with a lazy guard to which Miller exposed via pot shot and clean left hook punches. Be it fatigue or just frustration, Picou looked visibly worn going into the 4th round where the Floyd Mayweather Sr trained Miller seemed allot more composed as well as energetic, still landing good counters and hooks to close out the bout.
Result: Ladarius Miller remains unbeaten defeating Ryan Picou via unanimous decision with scores of ‎40-36 on all 3 score cards.
