Danny “Swift” Garcia, “Lightning” Rod Salka, Lamont Peterson, Edgar “El Chamaco” Santana and Daniel Jacobs hosted a press conference to officially announce their Saturday, August 9 bouts at Barclays Center live on SHOWTIME. President and founder of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya joined the fighters at Barclays Center.
DANNY GARCIA, Unified Super Lightweight World Champion
“Come August 9 it’s going to be another great performance by me. I feel like I’ve got a lot to prove. I’ve got to show the world why I’m the unified super lightweight champion of the world.
“I’m already training hard in the gym every day and running the hills. If the fight was next week I’d be ready, I’ve just got to lose a few more pounds.
“I can’t wait until August 9. It’s going to be my night.

“I’m coming to work. I’ve been working really hard, and my whole boxing career I’ve worked to put myself in position to fight for a world championship.
