Mark Reyes Jr. to face veteran Rivera October 6 in St. Petersburg, FL

Tampa, FL (September 25, 2018) – Welterweight standout Mark Reyes Jr. will now face 49 fight veteran Juan Jesus Rivera of Mexico as part of Fire Fist Boxing Promotions’ “Night of Champions.”

Fighting out of Aguascalientes, Mexico, Rivera is the third foe scheduled to challenge Reyes and has a significant experience advantage. The 37-year-old turned pro when Reyes was in elementary school and faced many noteworthy opponents including Abel Ramos, Dillon Cook, Travell Maizon, Malik Hawkins, 2016 US Olympian Charles Conwell, Samuel Vargas and Dierry Jean. Rivera’s coming off a decision loss to highly-touted Blair Cobbs in July.

Born and raised in Tampa, FL, Reyes’ record is a perfect one at 7-0 with 5 victories by KO. In June, he destroyed veteran Javier Garcia in less than a round. Reyes brings an exciting style and has a large fan base that continues to grow.

Reyes-Rivera is slated for 8 rounds and the winner claims the ABF Continental Americas welterweight title.

A total of 11 fights are scheduled including Willian Silva, Noemi Bosques, Avril Mathie, Ozodbek Aripov, Ramon De La Paz, Joseph Fernandez, Jose Medina and Antonio Moran in separate bouts.

All fights and fighters are sanctioned by the Florida State Athletic Commission and subject to change.
