Las Vegas, Nevada is the boxing capital of the world and tonight a private event was held there for boxing fans, writers, lovers and haters of the sport to rate the first episode of Knockout season 2. The response was unanimous. While the show last year was very good, it is now the undisputed best show in combat sports.

The show was taped at the Foxwoods casino under the watchful eye of famed director Benny Boom.  The show was shot way better than it had been shot in the first season and it surpassed all competition. The show is cutting edge and moves extremely fast.  It made the thirty minutes seem to pass as fast as a Mike Tyson fight in his prime. From the music to the editing of episode 1, this has the feel of a hit series.

The talent this season truly is falling into their roles. Floyd Mayweather Sr. gave a quick one liner letting the world know he feels he is the best trainer. Shane Mosley is smooth and calm but lets the world know that he is a champion fighter and plans to make his team the best and be a world class trainer. While the “Iceman” John Scully is quiet and humble, he let’s you know he is always ready to compete. Roy Jones Jr. Is incredibly engaging as your host and takes the leading roll and sets the pace of the show.

This season is a break through season for the show’s creator and executive producer Steven Marcano. He is currently working on a basketball show and is planning the next steps for Knockout. I spoke to him tonight after the private event and I asked him how it feels to have the hottest show in boxing.

He was at Foxwoods planning the live event as we spoke on the phone. When asked if there will be a third season, he said, “yes I can see that happening definitely but that will be worked out through Hollywood agent Andrew Ruf and Nuvo Head of Programming Bill Hillary, not me,” he stated.

The first season was filmed in Las Vegas and with this season filmed at Foxwoods, my next question was if season three takes place where would it be filmed and who would you like to add to the cast?

He stated, “Well hopefully we can come right back to the Foxwoods. That is the plan as long as we are welcome and I would love to add Mike Tyson. The fans would like to see that too I believe.”

Knockout looks like a smash hit and we know that for one reason and it’s simple. If you watch it, you love it and you are left wanting more. And more is available on Wednesday July 15, episode two of season two which should dig deeper into the story lines of the fighters and trainers alike as America gets to know them.
