GUESS WHO’S COMING OVER? VALERY!

queensbry promotions logoQueensberry Promotions have once again denied one of their boxers to opportunity collect Airmiles, by securing home advantage for British Flyweight Champion Kevin Satchell’s European title chance against Spain’s European Champion Valery Yanchy, after winning the purse bids at the EBU headquarters in Rome today.

Liverpool’s mandatory challenger, Satchell will get his chance in his home city in the Autumn.

Satchell’s Manager Neil Marsh was approached by the Spaniards camp with a view to doing a deal for the fight to take place in Spain prior to the purse bids, held his nerve along with Queensberry Promotions and Neil Marsh, suspecting that the Spaniards poker faced negations was a red herring, which proved to be right when the Spaniards failed to even put in a bid by the noon deadline in Rome.

Neil Marsh said, “This is undoubtedly a tough fight for Kevin and a genuine 50/50 and due to my tie up with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions and unlike so many other British mandatory challengers, Kevin will be getting his chance on home soil, which will certainly tip the odds very much in his favour,”

“It’s refreshing that only yesterday Dennis Hobson got Stuey Hall home advantage for another crack at the world title and now Kevin gets his chance to win at home, when other boxers are being sent all over the world which must be a disadvantage so it proves that the Brits can compete and deliver home advantage when needed. “

A date and venue for the fight will be announced shortly.
