MIAMI – September 20, 2023 – COMBATE GLOBAL today announced the return of undefeated welterweight (170 pounds) wrecking machine, “Jimbo Slice” (3-0-), and a complete Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card for Saturday, Sept. 23, live on Paramount+ from Miami.

The 27-year-old Jimbo Slice aka Jimmie Pace, Jr. of Miami, Fla. will take on fellow unbeaten rising star Christopher “El Tanque” Ewert (3-0).

Saturday’s live Paramount+ stream of COMBATE GLOBAL’s event will begin with a 30-minute pre-show, hosted by Jimmy Smith and Rodolfo Roman at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT, and will continue with the first preliminary card bout at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT.

Saturday’s fight will mark Jimbo’s third start of what has been a productive 2023 but, at the same time, hasn’t seen him spend a full round of battle in La Jaula on account of his sheer dominance over his opponents.

Jimbo, a former professional football player who trains out of Miami’s Goat Shed Academy, nearly set a new COMBATE GLOBAL record for quickest knockout in his last appearance, scoring a stunning, 16-second TKO (punches) on Spain’s Boris Garcia on July 1.

To date, Jimbo has not been pushed past the first round of a professional fight and, as an undefeated (5-0) amateur, was never taken past the second round of a bout.

Ewert, who recently celebrated his 30th birthday, hails from Santiago, Chile and has demonstrated similar knockout power to that of Jimbo.

On March 18, Ewert scored his third straight, first-round KO, sending Luis Avila to the canvas just 25 seconds into their fight with an onslaught of punches.

In a featured, main card flyweight (125 pounds) contest, submission expert Enrique “La Pesadilla” Pacheco (7-1) will face off with undefeated Ryan Ocasio (4-0).

Pacheco is a 31-year-old native of Santiago. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a red belt in Hapkido.

Since making his professional debut in 2017, Pacheco has earned an impressive 71 percent of his victories via submission.

In his last COMBATE GLOBAL start on March 18, Pacheco defeated American contender “Malicious” Michael Reyes via guillotine choke submission in the second stanza (2:11) of their matchup.

Ocasio is a 22-year-old resident of Boca Raton, Fla. and former NCAA Division I wrestler for The Citadel as well as a master practitioner of Jeet Kune Do.

After leaving college during the pandemic, Ocasio decided to pursue a career in MMA. Unbeaten as an amateur, Ocasio has since reaped the same level of success as a professional, winning his first four fights in less than one year.
Ocasio made his COMBATE GLOBAL debut in his last fight, submitting Mexico’s Santiago Monreal with a rear-naked choke in the second round (2:34) of the bout.

In a featured women’s flyweight (125 pounds) fight, Alessandra Pajuelo (1-1) of Lima, Peru will take on Blanca Medina (0-1) of Sevilla, Spain.

The preliminary bout card will be highlighted by a featherweight (145 pounds), USA vs. Mexico meeting between Carlos “The Chief” Calderon (4-2) of Denver, Colo. And Alejandro Gavidia (4-3) of Tijuana, B.C.

Kicking off the undercard will be a strawweight (115 pounds) affair between professional debut competitors Sara Vieitez (0-0) of Sevilla, Spain and Fernanda Orellana (0-0) of Santiago, Chile.
