Urban music superstar Daddy Yankee serves as Combate Americas’ first commissioner and Piolin, SiriusXM host of Piolin Radio channel 147, appears as the color commentator.

Danny The MachineBoxeoMundial spoke to Danny Morales, one of the shows combatants, about his participation in the show, and the program itself. Here is our conversation with Combate Americas MMA fighter, Danny “The Machine” Morales.

Hello, Danny. Can you speak to us a little bit about your MMA career prior to joining the show and how it came to be that you connected with the program?

Before this opportunity I was trying to stay busy so I was fighting every 3 months. This opportunity came up, I saw it on Facebook. They were looking for a certain professional talent, so I sent them some highlights, a little bit about myself, my record and style of fighting.

One of the first questions that people have about this type of program is, how is it living with 10 other people, some of who you might be facing in the cage in the not too distant future?

I believe it took a lot of patience, but more importantly you have to have a lot of strength and mental confidence to be in there with possible opponents and other people that are gunning for you. But I’ve been incarcerated before so I’ve learned to deal with all kind of people. I believe God put me through that position to learn to deal with some of the aspects of this show.

One of the aspects of the show that really stands out is the rift that comes across between you and JC. Can you speak on that a bit? Was the dislike real and personal? Or was it the cameras just catching two competitors interacting with each other?

Editor’s Note: JC Llamas is one of the other combatants at the welterweight limit, weight at which Danny is fighting at.

jc_llamasRight when I walked into the Mun2 Combate Americas set, I just felt a bad vibe from him and you can’t go against your intuition. I trust my intuition to the fullest and every time I was around that guy, I just got bad vibes.

For those that are watching the show, and for those that haven’t watched it yet, can you give us a glimpse of what is to come in the program?

I can’t say much, but I can definitely tell you that it only keeps getting better. And for those that haven’t seen the show they can catch it mun2.tv they have all the replays on there. The show just builds on itself and judgment day is going to come soon.

Combate Americas is live on Sundays at 10/9C – only on mun2! Replays of episodes can also be watched online live at http://www.mun2.tv/shows/combate-americas
