WBC SUPER FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION ZULINA “LA LOBA” MUÑOZ DEFENDS HER TITLE AGAINST MARISA JOHANNA “LA NENA” PORTILLO

LOS ANGELES (Nov. 27) – The ladies of boxing will take center stage at Gimnasio “Agustin  Millan” in Toluca Estado de Mexico this Saturday, November 30, with two world championship bouts to air live on Televisa and FOX Deportes.

In the 10-round main event, one of female boxing’s pound-for-pound best, Mexico City’s Zulina “La Loba” Muñoz, attempts to successfully defend her WBC World Super Flyweight Title for the fourth time against Argentina’s Marisa Johanna “La Nena” Portillo. The co-main event, also scheduled for 10-rounds will feature Zapopan’s Janeth “Cuisilla” Perez as shebattles Bulgaria’s Galina Koleva Ivanova in a clash of former world champions for the vacant IBF Bantamweight Championship.

“Gran Cerrojazo” is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Canelo Promotions and sponsored by Corona. Doors open at 5 p.m. CT and the first fight begins at 6 p.m. CT. The FOX Deportes broadcast will air on Sunday, December 1 at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT and the Televisa broadcast will on channel 5 and begin at 10:30 p.m. CT.

Owner of a stellar 39-1-2 (26 KO’s) record, 26-year-old Zulina “La Loba” Muñoz is an elite boxer who has not lost since 2007.  Muñoz has gone on a tear since that lone defeat to Alesia Graf and becoming one of female boxing’s top practitioners. Already 3-0 in 2013, with championship fight wins over Tenkai Tsunami, Soledad Macedo and Maribel Ramirez, Munoz looks to end the year with another memorable victory.

A three-time world title challenger, Santa Fe, Argentina’s Marisa Johanna “La Nena” Portillo(15-8-2, 4 KO’s) is determined to make good on her fourth time around when she faces Munoz this weekend. Winner of back-to-back fights over Marta Juncos (TKO 2) and Yessika Munoz (TKO 6), the 25-year-old plans on bringing a championship belt back to her boxing-rich country.

Janeth “Cuisilla” Perez (18-2-2, 4 KO’s) is back after two upset losses to Irma Garcia earlier this year and showed with her hard-fought win over Maria Elena Villalobos in July that she’s ready to put a world title belt around her waist once again. The former WBA bantamweight titleholder, the 23-year-old will now seek IBF gold on Saturday night.

Southpaw veteran Galina Koleva Ivanova (14-7-3, 2 KO’s) is a decorated prizefighter who has won five world titles since turning pro in 1999, but the 35-year-old from Sofia, Bulgaria is still hungry for more.   After three consecutive wins in 2012 and 2013 after nearly three years off from the sport, she looks to be on her way to world championship belt number six.
