JUDAH VS MALIGNAGGI UNDERCARD RESULTS
“Showtime” Shawn Porter (22-1, 14 KOs) is now the welterweight champion defeating former champ Devon Alexander (25-2, 13 KOs) for the IBF strap. In a twelve round dog fight with both men suffering cuts, Porter put tremendous pressure making it uncomfortable Alexander. Porter took the fight to Alexander, rocking him several times in rounds three and four and outworking the champion throughout the contest. Scores were 115-113, 116-112, 116-112.
Super welterweight interim champ Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12 KO’s) went on to win a unanimous over Austin Trout (26-2,14 KO’s) in a bout that saw Trout hitting the deck in the 11th round from a counter upper cut. Trout fought valiantly but Lara controlled the fight with his ability to counter punch at will. Scores were 109-118 and 110-117 twice.
Super middleweight champion Sakio Bika (35-2-2, 21 KOs) went on to retain his title with a twelve round draw against Anthony Dirrell (26-0-1, 22 KOs). Dirrell dropped Bika in the fifth round but Bika would come back to wobble Dirrell in round six. Bika was deducted a point for a low blow in round eleven. Scores were 114-112 Bika, 116-110 Dirrell, 113-113.
Super welterweight Julian Williams (14-0 8 KOs) punished Orlando Lora (29-5-2, 29 KOs) from the opening bell, to a point that the ringside physician stopped the fight on behalf Lora’s corner. Official time of the stoppage was 0:34 in round 3.
Ex Olympian Sadam Ali (18-0, 10 KOs) from Brooklyn, NY dominated Jesus Selig (12-2-1, 6 KOs) in a scheduled 10 round. Sadam eventually went on to knock out Selig in the 6th round. The official time of the stoppage was 0:22 of round 6.
Light heavyweight prospect Marcus Browne (8-0, 7 KOs) knocked out journeyman Kevin Engel (20-9, 16 KOs) in the first round of a scheduled eight. Engel was counted out when the bell rang while he was being counted out,with 3:00 minute official time of the stoppage.
Undefeated junior featherweight Juan Dominguez (16-0, 11 KOs) won an unanimous decision over Camilio Perez (4-2, 4 KO’s) via eight-round rounds.
