HBO Results: Garcia stops Lopez in 4

In the Main Event of the evening in front of a crowd of 5,605, Miguel Angel Garcia (32-0, 27 KOs) stopped Juan Manuel Lopez (33.3,30 KOs) at 1:35 of the 4th round. Lopez hit the canvas in the second but was able to recover and finish the round and put on a big effort in the 3rd. round. Going into the 4th round Garcia was very aggresive seeming to find his mark on Lopez , Garcia wobbled Lopez right before catching him upstairs with a straight right sending him to the canvas. Lopez beat the 8 count but referee seen enough calling a hault at 1:34.

In the co-feature of tonight’s HBO telecast, Terrence Crawford improved his undefeated record to (21-0, 15KO’s) via 6th round KO 17 seconds into the round with a crushing left hook to the head to claim the vacant NABO WBO featherweight title. Alejandro Sanabria who drops to (34-2-1,25 KOs) was very game but couldnt not overcome Crawfords constant pressure. Sanabria was able to beat the ten count but was on shaky legs. Crawford came on very aggresive as the rounds progressed, after the fight he would go on to tell Max Kellerman “Im always willing to make statement and I feel like I did that today”.
