 Undefeated Cuban heavyweight Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (23-0, 20 KOs) scored a third round KO over Matias Ariel “El Matador” Vidondo (20-2-1, 18 KOs) to claim the vacant WBA “interim” Heavyweight world title. Ortiz dropped Vidondo in round two and finished him with another knockdown in round three.Hard hitting middleweight contender Tureano Johnson (19-1, 13 KOs) scored two knock down in the first round to earn a twelve round unanimous decision over Eamonn “King Kane” O’Kane (14-2-1, 5 KOs). Scores were 118-108, 117-109, 119-107.

In the first bout of the night jr welterweight prospect Maurice Hooker (18-0-2, 14 KOs) defeated Ghislain  Maduma (17-2, 11 KOs) by split decision with scores of 95-93, 95-94 to Hooker and 95-93 Maduma. Hooker dropped Maduma in the third from a straight right. Maduma would come back by hurting Hooker in the 5th and nearly stopping him. It seems like the knock down was what made the difference for Hooker.
The second fight of the night between undefeated lightweight Lamont Roach jr (9-0, 3 KO’s) won a dull six-rounder against Jose Bustos (7-6-3, 4 KO’s) all three judges scored fight 59-55 for Roach.
Welterweight Ruslan Madiyev from Kazakhstan won a four-round unanimous decision over journeyman Sean Gee with scores of 40-35 (twice) and 39-36.
