Donaire Dominates Arce in stunning fashion!
Toyota Center, Houston Texas – In front of a packed and majority pro Jorge Arce crowd (7,250). Nonito Donaire ended things with a dominating and brutal KO. The Toyota Center was on its feet at the time of the stoppage. Donaire had previously knocked down Arce in the 2rd round but was able to recover and make it through the round. Jorge Arce was having his best round by far in the 3rd, having some success to the body of Donaire but could not hold up to the steady dose of power shots. Arce tasted the canvas again in the later part of the round before the final barrage came which had Arce flat on his back and unable to recover. With the stoppage coming at 2:59 seconds in round 3, Donaire improves his record to (31-1, 20KOs).
Donaire will go into the New Year with a lot of momentum and hopes to land some big fights after staying very busy in 2012. While the boxing world is clamoring for a title unification with tournament winner Abner Mares, Donaire made post fight comments that those are the fights he wants stating “bring then all on” and when asked if he would ask his promoter for those fights “I have been, I have been asking for two years now” responded Donaire.
