CHANGE FOR BUTLER

Ellesmere Port’s Paul Butler will now defend his Commonwealth Super-Flyweight Championship against Najah Ali tomorrow night (Friday 28th June) at the Liverpool Olympia.

Butler is chief support to the potential thriller between British Welterweight Champion Frankie Gavin and Commonwealth Champion Denton Vassell, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).

Unbeaten Butler was due to face Arnoldo Solano for the Vacant WBO Intercontinental title but the Nicarguan failed a British Boxing Board of Control medical and was withdrawn from the card.

On the undercard some of Merseyside’s best talents are out in force, including unbeaten prospects Liam Smith and Joe Selkirk; former British Champion Stephen Smith on the comeback trail; plus Manchester stars Joe Murray and up-and-coming prospect Rhys Roberts.
