Combate Global Announces Six-Fight Card For Friday – Live on Paramount+
NEW YORK – October 20, 2021 – Combate Global today announced another complete, six-bout Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card, live on Paramount+ on Friday, Oct. 22 from Miami, Fla.
Paramount+ live coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the live fight action, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET/10:00 p.m. CT.
In the featherweight (145 pounds) main event, undefeated American standout Zedekiah Montanez (4-0) will risk his perfect record against red-hot Mexican knockout artist Roberto Romero Hernandez (4-2).
The 29-year-old Montanez of Philadelphia, Pa. will make his Combate Global debut after earning first round victories in each of his last three matchups.
Fighting out of trainer Colin Oyama’s camp in Irvine, Calif., the 21-year-old Hernandez, who hails from Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico will return to La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage, for the third time this year after scoring memorable knockouts in each of his last two bouts in 2021.
In a featured flyweight (125 pounds) contest, Cristian “Scorpio” Barraza (6-3) of Santiago, Chile will also return to Combate Global action for the third time this year and look for his first victory of 2021 when he faces off with Diego “Cometin” Silva (3-2) of Mexico City, Mexico.
A featured women’s flyweight matchup between two professional debut competitors will see Melissa Amaya (0-0) of Spokane, Wash. collide with Gisselle Garcia Villanueva (0-0), also of Spokane.
On the three-fight preliminary bout card, undefeated Bryce Gamboa (2-0) of Miami will meet Maximiliano “Steel” Gonzalez (2-1) of Mexico City at bantamweight (135 pounds).
Another unbeaten prospect, Dorian Ramos (1-0) of Tucson, Ariz. will square off with Isaac Villegas (0-0) of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico at featherweight.
