Olympic gold medalist Ireland’s own Katie Taylor (6-0, 3 KO’s) stopped Jasmin Clarkson (4-9) on her stool at the start of the 4th round.
Welterweight Dan Murray (2-1) from New Jersey upset Staten Islands Kenny Robles (2-1, 1 KO’s) with a majority decision with scores 39-37 twice for Murray, 39-37 once for Robles.
Undefeated welterweight Noel Murphy gave Julio Cesar Sanchez his first loss by unanimous decision over t eight rounds. Murphy beat Sanchez with scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 78-74.
In the first fight of the evening of the Broner vs Garcia undercard featherweight Desmond Jarmon (3-0, 2 KO’s) won a unanimous decision over Darnell Pettis in a four rounder. Jarmon knocked Pettis down in the second and practically battered Pettis for the next two rounds. All three judges scored it 40-35 for Jarmon.
