Weights from Hammond: Jimenez vs. Cubos – Hitz Boxing Fight Night at the Horseshoe
The Midwest’s longest running boxing promoter, Bobby Hitz’s Hitz Boxing returns to The Venue at the Horseshoe Hammond tomorrow night for the latest in its popular, long-running fight series, Fight Night at the Horseshoe. In the main event, proven contender Mike “Hollywood” Jimenez faces Mexico’s Miguel Cubos in a Super Middlweight contest.
The co-main event bout sees a step-up in competition for Chicago heavyweight Nick Asberry (9-0, 4KO) as he faces Malcom Tann (23-4, 12KO) in the latter’s long-awaited ring return. Tann, who has not fought since losing a world title bid in Germany in 2007, has been training the past two years in the desert of Arizona, aiming to fight any taker, and finally has one willing to put his “O” on the line in a matchup that boxing fans in Chicago will not want to miss.
2012 Olympic Alternate and Chicago native Shawn Simpson steps into the ring in his third professional bout, facing tough super bantamweight Luis Guerrero.
