Video: Ricky Hatton talks post fight career, Pacquiao-Mayweather and more
112 Champions assembled at the WBC gala dinner, last night The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. Among them former light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton, who spoke to us about his post fight career as a promoter, and gave us his views on Pacquiao-Mayweather and various other topics.
On what he misses most about being away from the ring…
“Walking out the ring and hearing the fans roar. I have mixed feeling when it comes to Las Vegas, I remember all the happy times, but you want the happy times to last forever and they don’t. So there’s a little bit of happiness and sadness, but to be with all the champions out here, I’ve really enjoyed the week.”
On why Pacquiao-Mayweather hasn’t happened…
“I think if they wanted to fight, they could make it happen. The reason I got into boxing in the first place was to beat the best, so I don’t get why it’s not happening but only they can answer that.”
On who would win, Mayweather or Pacquiao…
Mayweather, Mayweather is exceptional, good defense, very clever fighter. I wouldn’t say with any degree of confidence, but if I had to say, I would bet on Mayweather”
