Nonito Donaire breaks down Mayweather-Pacquiao, ‘Very difficult fight to judge’
“[Mayweather-Pacquiao] is a very difficult fight to judge because you’re looking at guys that went up and down in terms of the way they fought. They had good days, they had bad days. They’ve looked like they slowed down; they looked like they’re not as good as they were back in the days. So it just comes down to who shows up. Who imposes they’re style early on, and Pacquiao is going to try to do that in the very beginning.
You know I don’t really people pick, because I like to look at it and analyses things. And Mayweather, he will figure you out and once he figures you out, it’s going to be a difficult situation. But again people are going to say Mayweather has never fought a guy like Pacquiao and that’s true. We’ve seen him against southpaws and he’s had problems with southpaws in the past. He’s been rocked by Cho Chop Corley, and he was hurt bad, like we’ve never seen him hurt. With Pacquiao’s punches he’s going to go down. But Mayweather does have the main weapon that southpaws are afraid of or weary of and that’s the straight right hand. He has the fastest and straightest right hand out there and that can take anyone away from their game plan.
In order for Pacquiao to win, he would need to be in and out, side to side, don’t give him no rhythm. Don’t give him time to think. What he has been doing when he fought Morales, when he fought Barrera, when he fought Marquez. That’s what he needs to do, in and out and box, and the one two, the one two, and just go out there.”
