VELASQUEZ AND WERDUM’S STYLES MAKE FOR A BEAUTIFUL FIGHT, SAYS FOX UFC ANAYLST CRUZ
This weekend’s UFC 188: VELASQUEZ VS. WERDUM features the heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez (13-1) and interim champFabricio Werdum (19-5-1) on Saturday, June 13. FOX UFC analyst Dominick Cruz believes the title fight comes down to the powerful wrestling of Velasquez against Werdum’s world class jiu-jitsu. “I want to see a ground battle,” says Cruz. “I want to see Velasquez challenged on the ground. He hasn’t been remotely challenged yet. And Fabricio is the one person who can challenge him. He has multiple high level jiu-jitsu championships. Because he’s so good on the ground, he can throw with reckless abandon against Velasquez because he wants to be taken down and he hopes to get the submission that nobody has gotten against Cain. It makes for a beautiful fight.” FOX Sports 2 has the UFC 188 WEIGH-IN SHOW on Friday, June 12 (7:00 PM ET), while FX airs the UFC 188 PRELIMS on Saturday evening (8:00 PM ET).
