Baltimore, MD – Multi-time champion Irish Joey “Bazooka Joe” Veazey will once again headline when he faces Lamont White in the main event of “Slugfest” Friday, January 23 at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD.
“Slugfest” is promoted by Baltimore Boxing Promotions and tickets starting at $25 are available at Baltimoreboxing.com or by calling 410-375-9175. VIP seats for $50 and VIP tables of 10 for $500 are also available. All VIP ticketholders get free hors d’oeuvres from 7-8 pm.
A huge ticket seller who fights out of the Baltimore Boxing Gym, Veazey is the current East Coast Junior Middleweight champion. Earlier this year, Veazy won a silver medal at the 2014 National Junior Golden Gloves. Having won or placed near the top in tournaments since his earliest days as a boxer, Veazey is expected to be a player in the paid ranks in the near future.
In the co-feature, Allan Burris of Baltimore meets Washington DC’s Jessie Singletary and Baltimore Boxing will also have a special attraction women’s bout between popular locals Courtney Hartlove and Melissa Wilson.
More bouts will be announced shortly.
“Baltimore Boxing is thrilled to return to Michael’s Eighth Avenue,” said Jake Smith, CEO of Baltimore Boxing Promotions. “Joey Veazey continues to impress and will put on a great show for his loyal fan base. Every time we do a card at Michael’s, the building is packed. Ticket sales are already very strong so make sure to get yours in advance because we’re expecting a sell out!”
In addition to an excellent evening of boxing, Baltimore Boxing will have a 50/50 raffle. 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards Baltimore Boxing’s amateur program, which has helped keep kids off the street and in the gym for more than 20 years.
Doors open at 6:30 and the first fight begins at 8:15.
