UNBEATEN BRITISH MIDDLEWEIGHT STAR AND 2012 OLYMPIC MEDALIST ANTHONY OGOGO MAKES LAS VEGAS DEBUT ON MAY 3

MAYWEATHER_MAIDANALAS VEGAS (April 8) – Great Britain’s unbeaten middleweight star and 2012 Olympic medalist,Anthony Ogogo, will make his debut in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, on Saturday, May 3 when he faces an opponent to be named on the non-televised undercard of the SHOWTIME PPV® mega-event “THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

 

“It’s an honor for me to be on the show and I can’t wait for May 3rd,” said Ogogo, “I’ve had a great training camp and hope to be in the best shape of my career for this fight. Some British fighters never get the chance to fight in Las Vegas and to do so in my sixth fight is a real achievement and will be a fantastic moment for me.”

Rising British middleweight star Anthony Ogogo (5-0, 2 KOs) has captivated the United Kingdom since his run at the 2012 London Olympics, and now he has his sights set on world domination. A talented boxer-puncher who shows maturity far beyond his years in the ring, Ogogo is coming off a shutout six-round win over Greg O’Neill in March, lifting the record of the 25-year-old from Lowestoft to 5-0.

 

“THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana,” is a 12-round world championship unification bout for Mayweather and Maidana’s respective 147-pound titles. This is the third fight of Mayweather’s lucrative multi-fight deal with Showtime Networks Inc. THE MOMENT is promoted by Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona, O’Reilly Auto Parts and AT&T. In the co-main event, Amir Khan faces Luis Collazo in a 12-round bout for the vacant WBC silver welterweight world title. The pay-per-view undercard also features a 10-round junior welterweight fight between Adrien Broner and Carlos Molina as well as a 10-round super middleweight bout featuring J’Leon Love vs. Marco Antonio Periban. The event will be produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT) will be available in Spanish via secondary audio programming (SAP).
