UFC Fight Night Overeem vs Arlovski in Rotterdam, Netherlands

How often do you get four of the MMA heavyweights on one fight card in your city?  And that with the very first UFC event visiting town.  But this is not just any ol’ visit.  The worlds premier mixed martial arts organization is making their long awaited debut in the Netherlands.  A nation that produced some of the best Kickboxing & Muay Thai fighters the world has ever seen. Dekkers, Hoost, Schilt, Bonyaski, Aerts just to name the few of the former world champions stemming from this country.

On Sunday May 8^th the lucky host for another UFC fight night will be the European city of the year 2015: Rotterdam, Netherlands.  Known for its multi-cultural make-up the city welcomes the MMA promotion and the fight fans at the fifteen thousand plus venue of Rotterdam Ahoy.  The UFC fight train in return will bring big names in MMA to head up a stacked fight card.  The Reem, The Pit Bull, Big Foot, The Skyscaper.  Yes it is official!  Four of the biggest names in the UFC Heavyweight division in Allistair Overeem, Andre Arlovski, Antonio Silva and Stefan Struve will all be on one card.

The UFC is using their Dutch fighters to bring it home. At age 35 and after 17 years of competing in MMA “the Reem” is returning to the Netherlands headlining the event.  The talk of title shot implication surrounding Overeem vs Arlovski make it that more of a dramatic fight night. The big Dutch hope Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve has a huge task in front of him against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. And Dutch Muay Thai icon Germaine de Randamie also known as “the Iron Lady” will also make her return to the octagon against Ana Almoso in a women’s bantamweight bout.
