UFC 190: ROUSEY vs. CORREIA tickets on sale now

UFC_190_ ROUSEY_CORREIARio de Janeiro – Named the most dominant athlete on the planet, undefeated UFC® women’s bantamweight champion and former U.S. Olympic medalist Ronda Rouseygoes head-to-head with surging contender No. 7 Bethe Correia on Saturday, August 1 when the Octagon® returns to the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Fresh off of a 14 second highlight reel finish over top contender Cat Zingano at UFC® 184 in February, Rousey (11-0, fighting out of Venice, Calif.) looks to cement her legacy as one of the most revered champions in mixed martial arts, as she goes for a sixth straight title defense against rival Correia on the challenger’s home turf in Brazil.

Bad blood ensued after Correia (9-0, fighting out of Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil) defeated two members of ‘The Four Horsewomen’, Rousey’s closest friends and training partners, as part of her campaign for the UFC women’s bantamweight title. “The Pitbull” intends to shock the world and cross another name off her list by dethroning the champion and bringing another world title back to Brazil.

After their legendary PRIDE bout in 2005, The Ultimate Fighter® Brazil coaches “Shogun” Rua (22-10, fighting out of Curitiba, Brazil) and Rogerio Nogueira (21-6, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) co-headline UFC® 190 in a rematch over a decade in the making.

Plus, fan favorite Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira (34-9, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), a 4th-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, returns in front of a hometown crowd to face 14th-ranked Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve (29-7, fighting out of Beverwijk, Netherlands) in a pivotal heavyweight showdown.

Additional bouts include:

  • Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante (12-5-1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) collides with former two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler Patrick Cummins(7-2, fighting out of Dana Point, Calif.) in a light heavyweight battle.
  • Brazilian-born Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (18-7-1, fighting out of Coconut Creek, Fla.) welcomes heavy-hitting Soa Palelei (22-4, fighting out of Perth, Australia), who has 19 knockout victories to his credit.

  • Plus, The Ultimate Fighter Brazil Season 3 winner Warlley Alves (9-0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) puts his spotless record on the line against The Ultimate Fighter: Nations alumnus Nordine Taleb (11-2, fighting out of Montreal, Canada) in a 170-pound bout.
