The Return of the Miguel Alacrán Berchelt

On March 26th, 2022, Miguel Berchelt will make his return to the ring at Resorts World in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Coming off a brutal knock out loss by his rival country man Oscar Valdez. Berchelt was making the seventh defense for the WBC Super Featherweight Title against Valdez but came up short with his sluggish movements and lack of power in his punches. Being a big contender in the featherweight division it’s possible that the weight is finally catching up to him and he is no longer able to make the weight that easily. Berchelt has made the move up to the lightweight division to face Jeremiah Nakathila, a former opponent of Shakur Stevenson.

Stevenson has stated that Nakathila was the biggest puncher he’s faced which puts Berchelt in a dangerous position coming up to a higher weight class.

Miguel Berchelt will be coming into this fight with his new trainer Jorge Capetillo a very under-rated trainer in the sport. Berchelt wants to show the boxing public that he is not done! He is demonstrating this with hiring Capetillo and regularly posting work outs up to three times a day on social media. His determination may take him back into the world title picture with a win over the tough Nakathila. We should be seeing a new and improved Miguel Berchelt under the guidance of Capetillo, and if he wins this fight, he can potentially get more opportunities to fight with likes of Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, Devin “The Dream” Haney, Gervonta “Tank” Davis, and George “Ferocious” Kambosos just to name a few.

One thing is for sure this is a fight that boxing fans are not going to want to miss, the return of Miguel “El Alacran” Berchelt.

The Mexican fighter has the stage to continue as a top contender in the division or the possibility of an early retirement from the sport of boxing.
We shall see March 26.
