‘Speedy’ Rashidi Ellis Media Workout Quotes and Photos in Puerto Rico
Today in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, former number one ranked amateur in the United States, ‘Speedy’ Rashidi Ellis ( 8-0, 6 KO’s ) with Troya Boxing Management, held up an open media workout at the Miguel Frau’s Gym in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where the undefeated prospect from Lynn, Massachusetts, impressed the media with his boxing skills.
Ellis will be in the co-feature bout this Friday, July, 11 at the Humacao Arena in a card promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions and Top Rank. Ellis will be facing, tough Mexican, Guillermo Ibarra ( 11-5, 7 KO’s ) in a six round welterweight clash. WAPA2/WAPA America will broadcast the boxing card at 10:00pm (E.T.).
Alex Rivera, trainer of Rashidi Ellis commented that,”Rashidi is always ready to fight. He is one of those boxers that once the fight is over, he’s back at the gym in a couple of days. He really wants to be a world champion, and this Friday in Humacao, he will look like one”.
“I’m almost at weight right now, and ready to deliver a great show to the people of Puerto Rico. Ibarra likes to come foward and throws punches in bunches but I got power, and boxing skills to stop that”, stated Rashidi Ellis.
Ellis ended up with a record of 60-11 in amateur boxing, which included:
-2012 National PAL (Police Athletic League) Champion
-Three time New England Golden Gloves Champion
-Rocky Marciano Amateur Boxing Tournament Champion
-Silver Medal at the Independent Cup in the Dominican Republic
