“Renegade” Robles Back in San Diego This Friday Night!
San Diego fight fans will be in for treat this Friday night, October 24th, at the new home for professional boxing, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Mission Valley in San Diego, when Bobby D. Presents “San Diego Fights: Back in Business”, a night of five professional fights. In the main event, the interim WBC Latino junior welterweight champion Emmanuel “Renegade” Robles (11-0-1, 3KO) of San Diego will face tough Ciudad Obregon, Mexico’s Carlos “Guerrero” Valenzuela (6-1, 3KO).
It has been a landmark year for Robles and he is looking to close it in style in front of his home crowd. In his first fight of the year in February, Robles defeated Olympian Yordenis Ugas to capture the WBC Latino belt dropping the experienced Cuban in the 7th on his way to a split decision win. Five months later Robles traveled to San Francisco and defeated local Jonathan Chicas via another split decision.
In the co-main event, WBC #7 ranked cruiserweight Dmytro Kucher (21-1, 15KO) of Kiev, Ukraine, makes his San Diego debut when go against seventy-bout veteran Galen “Bad Boy” Brown (42-28-1, 25KO) of St. Louis, MO. Kucher is coming off his first professional and is looking to get back in the win column but the experienced Brown might give him a tough time of it. Brown has faced the best in the heavier weight divisions including Fres Oquendo, Hasim Rahman and Robert Stieglitz among others.
Rounding out the card will be a border war between Joe “The Bull” Delgadillo (1-0, 1KO) of San Diego vs Tijuana’s Edgar “Porky” Najera (0-3) over four heavyweight rounds.
In a special attraction, junior welterweight Brandy Badry (1-5) of Canada will go against Jilian Lybarger (0-1) of Goodyear, AZ, in a female four rounder. The fight marks Badry’s first fight in the United States.
