Kevin Newman (7-0-1) vs. Pablo Velez (7-1-1)
(Super Middleweight Bout – 8 Rounds)
Newman and Velez collided in this battle of 168-pound warriors. They wasted little to no time meeting in the center of the ring and trading hard punches at close range.  The fight got a little rough during the first 90 seconds as they tangled for position and clinched their way to some dirty boxing. Then once Newman created some space as they got back to the center of the ring, he alertly launched 3 solid straight right hands that broke down his man and sent Velez flopping unto the mat on his back with a neck made of rubber. He beat the referee’s count but as he was putting his gloves up to assure Jay that he could continue, he stepped backwards and his eyes looked glossy like he was still out of it. The seasoned referee protected the fighter from himself and called a stop to the bout.
RESULTS: Kevin Newman remains undefeated by stopping Pablo Velez via TKO at (2:19) ‎of Round 1.
Daniel Gonzalez (3-0) vs. Mario Ayala (5-4-1)
(Featherweight Bout – 4 Rounds)

The biggest ‎pop of the night went to The Money Team’s own, Daniel Gonzalez as he took on Ayala, and for good reason. The talented Los Angelino put on an action-packed 12 minutes in a mini-fire fight against Sacramento’s Ayala. The two featherweights locked horns and traded at close range, showcaded fast hands and even faster combinations plus good chins as they took as good as they got.

However, the slicker, more defensively alert and controller of the ring was Gonzalez. The Californian operated behind a lightning quick jab, and his foot work was impressive as he switched from two to three angles with ease, confusing his man and setting up multiple hooks and straight punches. In the end his solid pedigree helped him cruise to a points verdict as he steadies his climb to bigger and better things under the Mayweather Promotions banner.

RESULTS: Daniel Gonzalez ‎remains unbeaten defeating Mario Ayala via unanimous decision with scores of 39-37, 40-36 and 40-36.
Ronald GAVRIL (18-1) vs. Decarlo Perez (16-6-1)

(Super Middleweight Bout – 8 Rounds)

The second fight of the evening featured a familiar face to the Mayweather Promotions fight cards in Gavril taking on Perez. ‎From the opening bell the Romania native and Mayweather Promotions up-and-comer controlled the pace and rhythm of the battle with his clean jab and over hand right.  Gavril was working, being first and marching forward as Perez gave him allot of space to work by constantly backing up and neglecting his jab. Gavril rocked him late in the 1st Round with a hard over hand right that made his foe step back, then he followed up with an even harder over hand right that staggered Perez forcing him to catch himself by grabbing onto the top rope with his right hand as he stumbled backwards. With his back against the ropes after sliding to his own left, Gavril pinned him there and unleashed a few combinations that went unanswered to close the round strong.

In Round 2, Gavril kept working behind his jab, cross and counter hooks to the body and head while his New Jersey adversary was operating behind single punches for the bulk of the round. Heading into Round 3, Gavril looked to time his man coming in and chose to stay in the pocket now before countering him with a clean cross or mean left hook. Late in Round 3 a vicious counter left hook landed flush on Decarlo’s face leveling him completely. Perez beat the referee’s count but walked backwards and covered up as he laid along the ropes. This time Gavril went in for the finish and trapped him along the red corner unleashing a barrage of shots; working the head and body then body and head using crisp hooks and over hand rights. Perez was defenseless as his foe connected almost at will and referee Jay Naydee had no choice but to step in and call a halt to the action.

RESULTS: Ronald Gavril stops Decarlo Perez via TKO at (2:24) of Round 3.

Thomas Hill. (6-2) vs. Lucius JOHNSON (4-0-1)

(Junior Middleweight Bout – 6 Rounds)

The first match of the night kicking things off for the Premier Boxing Champions card inside the Sam’s Town Live arena in the Sam’s Town casino featured a pair of 154ers in Hill and Johnson. Both men traded stiff jabs in the opening frame as they tried to assert themselves into the fight, reaching in or lunging a bit with the best punch a boxer can have. In the 2nd Round , ‘Bulldog’ Johnson took charge and connected with a short shot on the inside that sent his opponent to the canvas. Thomas Hill beat the count but rose on unsteady legs and his man smelled the blood in the water. Johnson came in for the kill as Hill was clearly still very hurt from the previous shot, then another exchange happened and Hill was dropped down to a partial knee. Later in the round a stiff over hand right caught Hill as he was pulling away and landed flush on his face sending him to the mat once again but he beat the referee’s count.
Going into Round 3 it seemed like Hill had gotten his legs back underneath him during the break however, the Las Vegan was nowhere near as eager to trade and come forward for the next 3 minutes.  ‎He caught a partial break in the middle of the round when a Johnson hook strayed low and hit him below the belt line; Hill used it to take a breather and recover before referee Russell Mora called time back in.  The next round saw Johnson leading and getting off first, full of confidence using a stiff jab and over hand shot with Hill doing his best to try and counter punch. Towards the end of the 4th Round a left hook-right hook combination appeared to send Hill to the canvas just before the junior middleweights’ feet got tangled up and they both crashed unto the canvas. ‎It was a sign of things to come as during the next exchange Johnson caught his man flush with a clean pair of shots as referee Russell Mora stepped in and caught him opting to call off the match and prevent Hill from any more punishment.

RESULTS: ‎ Lucius Johnson remains unbeaten stopping Thomas Hill via TKO at (2:15) of Round 4.
