ring de boxeo celaya1-nueva-promociones del puebloIrish star Stephen Ormond will make the first defence of his WBO European Lightweight title against Adam Dingsdale on Monday 7th October at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).

The fight headlines a fantastic four-fight card – with top undefeated talents Bradley Saunders, Matty Fagan and Simon Valily all in action – in support of the national music charity Nordoff Robbins.

Nordoff Robbins is dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the UK through the use of music therapy and other music services to help a range of people with challenges such as autism, dementia, mental health problems, stroke, brain injury, depression and life-threatening or terminal illnesses, such as cancer.

This year’s Boxing Dinner is in loving memory of Dean Powell who was a member of the Nordoff Robbins Boxing Event Committee and instrumental in putting the night together.

Previous winners of the Nordoff Robbins Boxing Icon Award are the respected journalist Colin Hart and International Boxing Hall Of Fame Promoter Frank Warren.

Big-hitting Dubliner Ormond makes a quick return to the ring after winning the title only last month with a stunning first round stoppage of Adam Mate, dropping the Hungarian three times with powerful body shots.

Dingsdale from Kent is undefeated in ten fights, including one draw, and has stopped his last three opponents inside three rounds. Last time out he claimed the vacant British Masters Lightweight title against Yordan Vasilev.

All-action Sedgefield light-welterweight Saunders, the 2008 Beijing Olympian and 2007 World Amateur Championship Bronze Medallist, looks to take his record to seven fights unbeaten when he takes on Bath’s Gareth Heard over eight rounds.

Ellesmere Port’s fast-rising lightweight talent Fagan takes on Ryan McNicoll over six rounds as he continues to build on his 2-0 record.

And completing the card is Teeside cruiserweight Simon Vallily, 2010 Commonwealth Games Champion and 2009 ABA Champion, who hasn’t lost a round in his two fights so far and looks to show his class again when he takes on Rolandas Cesna over four rounds.
