“Omar” Figueroa suffers injury

WBC lightweight champion Omar “Panterita” Figueroa, suffered an injury to his left hand and he won’t be able to fight against Ricardo Alvarez this Saturday, in an event of Golden Boy Promotions.

His trainer, Joel Diaz, advised that Omar injured his left wrist during a sparring session on Friday.

Álvarez will fight in this card but GBP is working to find him a new rival. This fight will be replaced by Linares vs Arakawa.

Díaz explained that hopefully Figueroa could return by April 19th.
