Misael Lopez improves to 12-0 with dominant victory over Nestor Robledo in Texas
Rising super featherweight prospect Misael Lopez improved to 12-0 on Friday night with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Nestor Robledo in Houston, Texas. The fight was promoted by Jermall and Jermell Charlo’s Lions Only Promotions.
Lopez recently relocated to Las Vegas and his work under the guidance of International Boxing Hall of Fame member Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson was evident early on as he set the tone almost immediately after the opening bell rang. He dropped Lopez in the 6th round on his way to a unanimous decision victory by the scores of 60-53 on all 3 scorecards.
The victory was the second of the year for Lopez who stated before the fight that the plan is to get him on a televised Premier Boxing Champions card before the end of the year
The 23 year old Lopez burst onto the national boxing scene last September when he upset James Wilkins in a fight that was televised by Showtime. He has picked up 3 victories since that fight and will be ready to move onto bigger fights in 2020.
In the main event on Friday night, Darwin Price stopped Breidis Prescott in the 5th round of their welterweight bout.. Marquis Taylor outpointed Jeremy Nichols in the co-featured fight.
