Martínez vs Cotto is almost signed

The eagerly anticipated fight between Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez and Miguel Cotto is close to being signed.

It’ll be Maravilla’s defense of his WBC middleweight title and could take place on June 7th at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Sampson Lewkowicz, who’s Sergio’s Advisor, said that negotiations are back on track, after they were interrupted for a couple of weeks due to the festive holidays.

It’ll be the second defense of the title Sergio conqured over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, in September 2012 in Las Vegas.

“The fight is not signed yet but we’re very close. It seems like its finally going to take place” Lewkowicz concluded.
