Maricela “La Diva” Cornejo wins in Playa Del Carmen

Over the weekend, Golden Boy Boxing’s Maricela “La Diva” Cornejo won her 13th professional bout by way of TKO in the 3rd round against Claudia Ramirez in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Cornejo now advances to 11-2, 4 KOs and says she wants to fight the best and hopefully in the U.S.

I am so grateful to Pepe Gomez, Memo Rocha and the Cancun Boxing Family for keeping me active, but I was Mandatory Challenger for Nikki Adler since early 2017 for the WBC Super Middleweight Title, but never got the chance to fight her. Give me Adler, Give me Alicia Napoleon, whoever, I’m ready. I know with the support of my fans, my promoter, and my team, I am ready to fight for a Title. I’m confortable at Super Middleweight right now, but if I have to go down to Middleweight and fight Christina Hammer, I can do that too. Women’s Boxing is on fire right now and it’s time to fight the best.”
