Knockout’s formula is the new blueprint for boxing
Boxing is a Billion dollar business. This has been proven again and again with pay-per-view superstars like Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao combining over the past 30 years to break PPV records and generate billions of dollars.
This was all lead by some of the greatest business minds in the sport like Bob Arum, Don King, De la Hoya and Al Haymon. Yet it is hard to believe that there are still so many revenue streams not being explored.
The UFC has built a film division and a league which is valued at over four billion dollars. None of the greatest boxing companies can be compared to that. Al Haymon’s PBC is on the fast track because they understand this format in the same vain as the WWE and UFC with both companies having over a billion dollar valuation.
That leads us to the boxing reality show Knockout and what they are planning on doing in their third season. Knockout’s blueprint is everything that is missing in the billion dollar plan. Reality television is a big part of both the WWE and the UFC. They both have film divisions and both make stars quicker than conventional boxing promoters.
This is what Knockout brings to boxing – a film and television production company with major distribution which leads to advertising and sponsorship opportunities to secure deals for boxers and PR to build stars quickly. Plus they have a direct connection with a major talent agency.
So now the announcement of Knockout starting a league is great news to help bridge the billion dollar gap in boxing.
Remember, Knockout starts filming August 8th and returns to your airwaves in November.
