Knockout Season 2 to premiere Wednesday July 8th at 10pm ET
2015 has been big for the sport of boxing. The sport is bigger than ever with it’s return to free television with series like the PBC. Today’s best fighters are now showcased on both premium cable and network television and the increase in ratings indicate that networks and advertisers want even more boxing.
Boxing’s hottest weekly series Knockout returns on Wednesday for season two with even more star power in a true formatted weekly docu-reality format. Last season Knockout was only available in thirty-two million homes and had extremely limited promotion yet it still surpassed all other properties on the network and most properties in boxing and mixed martial arts.
Here are some facts on Knockout: It’s best weekly rating combined was a 1.2. The show always aired in the network 25 weekly stops and often grabbed the number 1 or 2 spot. The live event was a success with 1138 paid admission in attendance . The live gate for Knockout surpassed one hundred thousand dollars.
This is important because this type of interest attracted some of the biggest names in the sport in the first season and it continues with Roy Jones Jr., Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather Sr. and many others on board for the second season.
These numbers were generated with limited promotion on an independent network. This type of success on a non-premium cable or network broadcast speaks for itself. KNOCKOUT is out to prove once again that it is must see and this will be proven on July 8th, at 10 p.m. eastern. For true and casual boxing fans this is a must see.
