Kenia Enriquez Nominated as Tijuana’s Athlete of the Year !
Twenty-one year old Kenia Enriquez of Tijuana experienced a banner year in 2014. She performed a total of five times during the year with each bout upping the skill and experience of her opponent. Enriquez remained undefeated and captured not only the NABF light flyweight title but also the WBO world female flyweight championship. With the win Enriquez became the second youngest active female champ in the world as well as the first Mexican female champion in the history of the World Boxing Organization. To top of her historic year, she has been nominated by the FRONTERA newspaper out of her hometown of Tijuana as one of the top 17 athletes of the city for the year of 2014.
