Light middleweight Jack Culcay (15-1, 10 KOs) is the latest addition to a quality undercard for the vacant WBA World Light Heavyweight title clash between Juergen Braehmer and Marcus Oliveira on December 14. The 28-year-old, who regained the WBA Intercontinental Title in October, is set to defend against Dieudonne Belinga (11-3) at the Jahnsportforum in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

However, there has been one big change in “Golden Jack’s” team: Fritz Sdunek is no longer part of it, replaced by renowned British coach Gary Logan. Moritz Klatten, Culcay’s manager: “Fritz Sdunek is one of Germany’s most respected and successful coaches. Though, due to commitments to other fighters, he could not focus enough on Culcay in the recent past. Therefore, we have split with him by mutual agreement.” According to Klatten, Logan is the perfect replacement to Sdunek. “He has already trained and seconded world-class boxers such as George Groves and David Haye. We believe that Jack will progress under his tutelage.”

Culcay also sees the advantage to the change in his corner: “Gary Logan is thoroughly there for me. He has a similar training regime to Mr. Sdunek, yet does some things very different from him. I believe I will become even stronger with Logan as my coach.”

This is something the Amateur World Champion of 2009 aims to prove when he meets Frenchman Belinga in Neubrandenburg. “I am really excited for this match-up, seeing it as a test of my collaboration with Logan,” said Culcay, who will be looking for bigger goals after December 14. Culcay: “I became a professional boxer to fight for the European and World Titles. That is my objective and I will work hard to get closer to it!’’
