Ismail Özen and Timur Dugazaev win in Hamburg

Supermiddleweight contender Ismail Özen scored his 12th win in his 14th pro fight Saturday night in front of 2,000 fans at CU Arena in Hamburg, Germany, by stopping Haris Calakovic from Serbia in the fifth round. After a slow start Özen unleashed his fury in the fifth nailing Calakovic to the corner with a barrel of unanswered punches forcing his opponent’s corner to throw the towel.

In the co-feature light heavyweight Timur Dugazaev stopped Todor Ilic from Croatia in the second round. The promoter of WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev sent his opponent to the floor three times before German referee Timo Habighorst stepped in to stop the bout. It was Dugazaev’s third win in as many pro fights.
