GALAHAD TO DEFEND COMMONWEALTH TITLE AGAINST THE WBA NUMBER 6, THE PRINCE OF HALI
London (31st July) Commonwealth and European champion Kid Galahadwill defend his Commonwealth super bantamweight title against CanadianTyson Cave* on Saturday 20th September in Sheffield.
The night of championship boxing from Ponds Forge sponsored byMaxiNutrition will be shown live on Channel 5.
Cave from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada is ranked number 6 by the WBA and Galahad is expecting that an impressive win over the ‘Prince of Hali’ will propel him up the WBA ratings and ultimately give him the world title shot that he craves against title holder Scott Quigg.
Kid said “If I’m honest I haven’t seen much of him but that isn’t a problem as come the 20th September in that ring I will be prepared for anything.”
“I’m looking forward to jumping over Cave in the (WBA) ratings so eventually Quigg will stop running and will be forced to fight me.” Galahad added.
Cave, the 32-year-old NABA super bantamweight champion said “He has never been in the ring with an alien like me. Everything that he’s trying to do, I’ve perfected.
“He (Galahad) should stop trying to be like the prince, there’s only one prince in the game now and that’s the Prince of Hali.”
Galahad’s promoter, Mick Hennessy said “This is a genuine step up in class for Kid, if he wins this fight in style like I believe he can, I will be pushing for a world title fight for him.”
Popular Sheffield fighters Adam Etches and Scott Jenkins will also be in action along with local fighters Atif Shafiq, Sam O’Maison, Callum Hancock, Bradford’s Golden Boy, Nadeem Siddique and Team Fury fighters Isaac Lowe and Tyson’s cousin Dempsey Fury.
The packed crowd will also see highly regarded featherweight prospect Yusuf Safa from Bexleyheath in action.
