First Female World Title in San Diego Set for Nov 21!
(San Diego) – With a commitment to showcase “boxing at its best”, the last fight card of their schedule is no exception for California boxing hall of fame promoter Bobby D. Presents. On Friday, November 21st, San Diego, CA, will be the host of a world title when Tijuana’s Kenia Enriquez (12-0, 6KO) faces the much more experienced Ana “La Bronca” Arrazola (20-10-2, 13KO) for the vacant WBO flyweight world title. The Enriquez vs Arrazola world title fight is scheduled for ten explosive rounds and will headline a jam-packed six bout fight card billed as “Dangerous Divas II”. The event is co-promoted with Latin America’s most successful promoter, Zanfer.

The last championship fight waged in San Diego County was nearly ten years ago when multi-divisional champion Israel “Magnifico” Vazquez defended his newly acquired IBF bantamweight title on December 28th, 2004, at the Sycuan Resort and Casino in El Cajon via 5th round technical knockout of Artyom Simonyan. The historic night of November 21st will be the first time a female world title is disputed in “America’s Finest City”.
The scheduled main event will mark the fifth fight this year for the undefeated Enriquez who last April stopped former world champion Jolene Blackshear in seven to capture the NABF light flyweight title. Along with the regional title, wins over Selene Lopez, Noemi Bosques and Mayela Perez catapulted Enriquez to a top 5 ranking with all the major organizations which led to the world title opportunity.
The title was vacated by Argentinean “Tutti” Bopp who after becoming pregnant also left the WBO and WBA light flyweight titles.
Arrazola, the first southpaw Enriquez has faced as a pro, is the most experienced fighter the charismatic Tijuana fighter has faced. Arrazola is coming off a challenge for the IBF light flyweight title as well as reigning as the Mexican national and WBF champion. In a thirty-two fight career Arrazola owns wins against highly ranked Anahi Torres twice and a draw with former world champion Jessica “Kika” Chavez and has faced the likes of the aforementioned Bopp, current world champion Ibeth “La Roca” Zamora, Susi Kentikian, Ji-Hyun Park and Naoko Shibata to prove she will be a difficult adversary for the twenty-one year Enriquez.
