Eric Tudor scores big KO win, looks to return in October
Indio, CALIFORNIA – Eric Tudor (5-0) put on the most impressive performance of his young professional career Thursday night on the latest edition of Golden Boy Promotions’ monthly prospect themed series that are streamed by DAZN.
Tudor started off strong, landing big shots in the opening stanza which put his undefeated opponent Edgar Valenzuela (7-1) on his back foot for most of the round.
There was a learning moment for Tudor late in the round when he was hit with a clean right hand that temporarily stunned him. However, he was able to keep his composure and finished the round strong.
He didn’t waste time in the second round, going right at Valenzuela. Tudor would knock down his opponent twice, with the referee having no choice but to call a halt to the fight after the second knockdown at the 2:04 mark.
“I got caught with a good shot but I wasn’t hurt. It’s something I am going to learn from. Overall, I thought I did a good job,” said Tudor.
The 20 year old Romanian Olympian made his pro debut in February when he stopped Dalton Duncan in 1 round. He followed that impressive performance up with 2 more knockout victories before going the 6 round distance versus Dante Stubbs in May.
Tudor’s team plans on him fighting two more times this year with his next ring appearance coming in early October.
