Donovan Dennis set for Heavyweight tussle with Jarrell Miller on ShoBox: The New Generation
Tucson, Arizona (January 22, 2016) – Tonight on ShoBox: The New Generation, 2015 Boxcino Heavyweight finalist, Donovan Dennis (14-3, 11 KO’s, 2-1 WSB), is ready to jump into the suddenly crowded heavyweight mix when he battles Jarrell Miller (15-0-1, 13 KO’s) in the co-main event live on SHOWTIME.(10:35 PM ET/PT., delayed on the west coast)
Dennis of Davenport, Iowa is looking to redeem himself and a win on the nationally televised ShoBox, A victory will go a long way towards the 28 year-old becoming a player in the Heavyweight division.
Dennis weighed in at 218 1/4 lbs. 56 pounds less than his unbeaten opponent, but Dennis, who is looking to knock his fourth undefeated opponent of and is very confident on his chances in this potentially star-making fight.
“Anything can happen with one punch. That’s what you get with heavyweights. I think I can outbox him, outwork him. Make him fight my fight and outwork him,” said Dennis.
“We sparred with Dominic Breazeale and it was good work while I was there. It was solid training
“Miller is a big guy, but his power isn’t anything I haven’t seen before. You can’t listen to what other people say or get intimidated by records. Later rounds, early rounds, we’re ready for a 10-round fight. I’ve faced the tougher opponents, I’ve had the harder route.
“You’re going to see a different Donovan. I feel like I’ve matured from my last fights. The Boxcino Tournament matured me mentally as a fighter.
“I’m the better boxer, the more experience fighter. I’m going to take over the fight.”
