Deakin Out – Stulginskas In For Alexander At York Hall This Saturday
For his first bout in the UK, since returning from training and boxing in America, Finsbury Park’s Mark ‘The Flash’ Alexander is set to face late replacement Tadas Stulginskas. on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events promoted CAPITAL PUNISHMENT mega event at York Hall in London on Saturday 25th October.
Originally Mark was due to face old foe Rockin’ Robin Deakin, however Robin was forced to pull out, which opened the door for Tadas to make his third trip to the York Hall this year.
Tadas is no easy replacement opponent for ‘The Flash’, back in March he dispatched debuting Suz Member is just one minute and two seconds of the first round, however Mark seemed less than impressed, believing that his experience will see him come through victorious, as he made clear when he spoke earlier.
“I’m really disappointed that the rematch with Robin Deakin isn’t going to happen, but to be honest the result would have been the same as before, I beat him well back then and would have beaten him even better this time around.
So it goes, I’m just happy to get back out and fight, don’t really care who the opponent is.
Don’t know too much about this new guy, other than he’s fought previously on Dave Murphy’s shows.
He had a very good result against Suz Member but that doesn’t mean anything, Suz was debuting, I’ve had sixteen fights and been in some real wars with some very good fighters, the likes of Michael Brodie, John Simpson and Dazzo Williams so this guy doesn’t worry me at all.
Been getting some top sparring at the TRAD TKO, been sparring Tommy ‘Da Gun’ Martin, he’s a good boy and a great sparring partner.
Had storming six round spars with Tommy, probably could have done more but don’t want to push it at this point, so doing six rounds with a good kid like Tommy is just perfect right now.
I know what I have in me, I know what I have in the tank, I’ll be really sharp on the night.
I’m looking forward to getting back in the swing of things, get this fight out of the way, move on to the next fight, I want to start building to a title shot, that may still be a little way off yet but I’m sure I will get the chance next year now I’m signed with Dave Murphy.
It makes such a difference being signed to a promoter, after I’ve beaten Tadas, he’ll start building me up so I can start fighting for belts, which I’m more than good enough for.
Now I’m going to do this the right way, everyone will get to see the best of Mark ‘Flash’ Alexander.
So to all the fans out there, come on down to York Hall on October 25th, it’s going to be a great night, lots of top class fights and what’s more you’ll get the chance to see me back in action in the Capital again.”
Mark ‘The Flash’ Alexander vs Tadas Stulginskas features on the undercard of the Baz Rehman sponsored Marianne Marston versus Marianna Gulyas MBC International title clash, takes place on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events promoted CAPITAL PUNISHMENT mega event at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, on Saturday, 25th October 2014.
