Canelo vs Fielding face to face in New York

Canelo Álvarez will be presented with the new WBC middleweight championship belt next Monday in Mexico City, in an big ceremony by Mauricio Sulaiman and the World Boxing Council, there are expected to attend big tv personalities, historic former champions, Oscar de la Hoya CEO, Eric Gómez president and Ramiro González PR Director of Golden Boy Promotions among others.

According to a source of boxeomundial.com the WBC is trying to do a historic presentation along with Golden Boy to present the belt to Canelo.

After Canelo receives his new championship belt, Canelo and his team is expected to fly to New York to present to the media his upcoming title fight and he will see Rocky Fielding for the first time.

The presentation of the WBA super middleweight title contest will be held at the HULU theatre at Madison Square Garden the fight will take place on September 15 at the MSG legendary arena known as the Mecca of boxing.

Canelo is expected to start training camp next weekend in San Diego, California along with his trainers Eddy and Chepo Reynoso and WBO Featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez.

This is the first time Canelo will challenge for a world tittle at 168 pounds and he is looking to capture a world title in his third weight category to join Mexico’s boxing most elite like Julio César Chávez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Eric Morales, Juan Manuel Márquez just to name a few.
